SA Express

South African Express is a domestic and regional, passenger and cargo carrier established on 24 April 1994.

On 18 April 2007, Cabinet approved the transfer of South Africa Express Airways (Pty) Ltd (SAX) from Transnet to the state, with the Minister of Public Enterprises as the shareholder representative.

South African Express has since become one of the fastest growing regional airlines in Africa. With route networks covering major local and regional cities, South African Express plays a significant role in the country's hospitality, travel and tourism industry and is vital contributor to the country's socio-economic development.

South African Express has a growing fleet of aircraft and implements self-technical maintenance for all its fleet types at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, where it also has its head office.
