Question for oral replyQuestion no.: 586 (141)Date of publication: 24 October 2012586 (141). Mr S D Montsitsi (ANC-Gauteng) to ask the Minister of Public Enterprises:(a) What (i) were the causes and (ii) was the nature of the deterioration of the relationship between the SA Express Airways and the auditors and (b) what (i) sanctions and/or (ii) steps were instituted or taken against persons other than rotating the auditors and the Board in order to avoid the re-occurrence thereof and to restore responsible management and accountability? CO756EReply:(a)(i-ii) The cause of the deterioration in the relationship between the auditors and SA Express Airways was a difference in opinion on treatment and evidence required to support what SA Express Airways had identified as necessary changes to be made to the restated 2010/11 financial statements. (b)(i-ii) As the auditors could not form an opinion on the financial statements, and as this was an issue of difference in opinions, no punitive action could be taken against any party, except to recognize that the relationship had deteriorated and therefore the two parties could not work together any further.
