The Mphanda Nkuwa project is one of the projects listed in the Inter-Governmental Memorandum of Understanding between Mozambique and South Africa concerning the North Mozambique Power Development Initiatives (NMPD). An Inter-Utility Memorandum of Understanding has not as yet been finalised. Further information in this regard can be made available once negotiations have been concluded.
