MINISTER LYNNE BROWN TO HAND OVER BURSARIES AND TWO MOBILE LIBRARIES TO LEARNERS IN MKHUHLU
The Minister of Public Enterprises, Lynne Brown, will on Monday 27 March bring joy to the learners of Mkhuhlu, when she hands over bursaries and learnerships to deserving students to further their studies to tertiary institutions.
The Minister will also hand over 2 mobile libraries each to five identified schools in the Mkhuhlu community, which will give learners access to a wide range of reading material.
The bursaries and libraries are part of the Government's NDP 2030 Back-to-School Week.
At the beginning of every year State-Owned Companies (SOCs) reporting to Minister Brown inject resources to assist students from underprivileged communities
Eskom will award 10 deserving learners with bursaries to study Medicine and Engineering at Medunsa, UP, Wits, DUT and TUT respectively. Transnet has identified 20 learners to enroll in a cadet programme in preparation for careers as engineers.
A career expo by SOCs on the day is also intended to guide learners to make informed career decisions, especially when choosing courses to study after matric.
