SAA chair announces termination of Khaya Ngqula’s employment

Johannesburg, 10 March 2009: Jakes Gerwel, chairman of the board of South African Airways, has today announced that by agreement Dr Khaya Ngqula’s employment with SAA has terminated.
It has been agreed between the parties that the terms of the settlement are confidential but any payments will be reflected in the Annual Report in accordance with normal disclosure obligations.
Chris Smyth will continue to act as CEO of SAA while a search is undertaken for a permanent CEO of the airline.
