Speeches for the Transport Sector, 2009

The Department views the issues raised by the transport union SATAWU in a serious light.  The allegations raised by SATAWU had been brought to the attention of the Chairman of the Board of SAA, prior to the article in the Sunday Times.  With due regard to governance processes, as the Shareholder, we await the urgent response from the Board on how they propose to deal with the investigation.  We will work with the Board of SAA to ensure that the issues raised are thoroughly and independently investigated.
